What This Is
Another blog. Another waste of bandwidth. Another fool thinking they have something to say in a world that’s already drowning in noise.
But here we are.
Who Writes This Garbage
I’m just another guy who’s been in the trenches too long. Survived the first dot-com bubble when everyone thought putting “.com” after your name meant instant millions. Survived the second one. Probably won’t survive the third.
I’ve written code in languages you’ve forgotten existed. I’ve been paged at 3 AM because some MBA decided we needed to deploy on a Friday night. I’ve sat in meetings where grown adults argued for forty-five minutes about whether a button should be cornflower blue or periwinkle.
I drink cheap red wine. I write dirty shell scripts. I hate Kubernetes but I use it anyway because that’s what the job requires and the bills don’t pay themselves.
What You’ll Find Here
Posts about technology, written by someone who’s watched the industry eat itself alive for decades. No thought leadership. No growth hacking. No synergy or paradigm shifts or moving the needle or any of that LinkedIn garbage.
Just a guy at a terminal, trying to make things work, trying to keep the servers from catching fire, trying to remember why he got into this racket in the first place.
The Tools
This site runs on Hugo because static sites are the only honest thing left in web development. No database. No runtime. No containers. Just files that turn into other files.
The theme is styled after Borland Turbo C++ because back then software came in a box and did what it said on the tin. No subscription fees. No cloud dependencies. No telemetry phoning home.
Those were simpler times. Worse times in many ways, but simpler.
Contact
If you really need to reach me, the social links are around here somewhere. But understand: I’m not influencing anyone, I’m not building a personal brand, and I’m definitely not looking to connect on LinkedIn.
I’m just here, typing into the void, same as you.
“Find what you love and let it kill you.”
That goes for programming too.
